Reports just reaching us, suggest that President Goodluck Jonathan, has taken over the supervision of ministry of power until substantive power minister is appointed.
Just yesterday, Barth Nnaji, resigned his position as the Minister of Power, amidst several allegations hanging over his head. And they are not unconnected to the role he played recently in the privatization of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.
“Prof. Nnaji for his services to the nation under the present administration and wishes him well in his future endeavors.” Dr. Reuben Abati, the presidential media aide, confirmed in a short statement, while also commending Nnaji for all his efforts.
The president also immediately approved his letter of resignation with immediate effect, and has now gone on to take upon himself the overseeing of the ministry, till a new man comes in.
